Docket: LLI-CV23-6035109-S (Litchfield).

Status: CLOSED. Withdrawn by the plaintiff on May 29, 2026.

Parties. Plaintiff April Arrasate. Defendants Linares Faye Farms, LLC, Connecticut Social Equity, LLC, Connecticut Social Equity Holdings, LLC (d/b/a Linares Faye Capital Holdings, LLC), Arthur Linares, Luis Linares and Brian Faye.

What the complaint says. Arrasate says she brought the defendants the rights to buy a 60-acre property at 266 Watertown Road in Morris, for which she had obtained zoning approval to grow cannabis, under an assignment and assumption agreement and lease. In return, about 20 acres with the house were to be partitioned and sold to her for $1 by August 23, 2023, with a $125,000 penalty if that did not happen. She alleges the defendants bought the property, began operating under RERACA, and then refused to partition and sell the carve-out, refused to pay the $125,000, failed to install a residential well, interfered with her quiet enjoyment and damaged the property, and acted in bad faith.

What happened. Filed September 15, 2023 in Hartford with lis pendens on the Morris and Bethlehem land; transferred to Litchfield in November 2023 on the defendants’ motion. The complaint was amended several times, ending with a revised complaint on May 23, 2024. The defendants moved to strike in June 2024; Judge Walter Menjivar’s November 12, 2024 memorandum of decision (published here) resolved that motion, which sought to drop the contract counts against Connecticut Social Equity, LLC, the holdings company and Arthur Linares as non-parties to the contract. Discovery disputes and a protective-order fight ran through 2024 and both sides disclosed experts. The defendants answered with special defenses in January 2025. After status conferences in 2025 and orders in April and May 2026, Arrasate withdrew the action on May 29, 2026.

Status. Closed by withdrawal. The docket does not state whether the parties settled.
