About Connecticut CannaTimes
Facts first. You decide.
Connecticut news outlet covering cannabis law, policy, and regulation. No sales, no promotion. Reporting from public records and court filings.
Where we stand
We don't claim to be unbiased, and we won't pretend to be. Our sympathies are with the people who usually have the least power in Connecticut's cannabis story — patients, caregivers, small and legacy growers, and the people who end up on the wrong side of enforcement. What we offer in place of neutrality is method: every story is built from public records, sourced so you can check it yourself, with the other side's facts and responses included. We tell you what the records show and what we conclude from them, and we keep the two clearly apart. Then you decide.
What we investigate
Connecticut cannabis law, policy and regulation: the General Assembly, the Department of Consumer Protection, the Social Equity Council, the courts, enforcement, licensing and ownership, testing and product safety, the medical program, hemp, and the state's handling of kratom and psychedelics. The standing subjects are on the Investigations page.
Who publishes this
Connecticut CannaTimes is an independent publication that publishes anonymously. Bylines use institutional identifiers only: Connecticut CannaTimes, The Editor, Editorial Staff, and Contributing Writer. The publication does not identify anyone associated with it and does not confirm or deny any individual's involvement. Coverage of regulators, licensees and lawmakers is meant to be judged on the records cited, which is why stories link to them. The publication takes no advertising, sponsorship or payment from the industry it covers.
How we work
- Stories are built from public records: statutes, bills, roll calls, court dockets, agency decisions, FOIA productions and official notices. Where a story relies on a document, we link it, and where we hold a copy it is published in the Documents archive (407 records so far).
- News, Analysis and Opinion are labeled on every page. The editorial standards say what each label means and what we do and do not verify.
- Errors are corrected openly and logged on the corrections page.
- We do not sell cannabis products, run promotions, or accept advertising from the industry we cover.
