CT CannaTimes would like to thank the bipartisan proponents, sponsors, and supporters of SB 191 “An Act Concerning the Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Pilot Program” which officially passed both chambers of the Connecticut General Assembly today.
Special recognition goes to Public Health Committee leadership including Sen. Saud Anwar (D), along with the bill’s bipartisan co-sponsors:
- Sen. Martha Marx (D)
- Rep. Aundré Bumgardner (D)
- Rep. Devin Carney (R)
- Rep. Nick Gauthier (D)
- Rep. Hubert Delany (D)
We also want to acknowledge Rep. Greg Howard (R), a longtime police detective, former K-9 officer, EMT, and emergency dispatcher, for delivering one of the more powerful speeches of the debate in support of young first responders, veterans, and trauma survivors.
Regardless of politics, moments like this show that conversations around trauma, mental health, and alternative therapies are evolving across Connecticut.
